About Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon Since April 2003, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon (AaSP), a NJ all-volunteer 501 (c )(3) public charity, has been supporting our Troops overseas and at home. AaSP is a three-spoke charity: we send care packages to our Troops in harm’s way; provide Morale Welfare Recreation (MWR) military appreciation events; and the largest spoke -- we take care of America’s Wounded/Recovering Veterans through its Operation Wounded Care. Its program-to-revenue ratio has always been in the 95% range (and continues in 2017 with 95.1%) and when it comes to the Wounded Veterans, it is always 100%. No one takes any salaries and no one gets any special privileges. AaSP is approved by the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #66968) and is the Official Care Package Arm of the Special Forces Charitable Trust.
