Incorporated in 2014 and officially launched in 2016, MARA Corporation was established as an investment holding company owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to centrally manage all MARA’s commercial entities. MARA Corp aims to be a global leader in key sectors that shape Malaysian industries and socio-economic development by creating and developing investments in key sectors that would deliver scalable and sustainable financial returns especially for the Bumiputras in the rural areas. MARA subsidiaries have been an instrumental in the development of the Bumiputera professional and industrial community since the launch of the New Economic Policy in 1970. As an investment holding entity, MARA Corp is also envisaged to generate more returns for MARA and to curb unnecessary business risk for the governmental body. The practice of good corporate governance and high professionalism to mitigate graft and incompetency practices within the subsidiaries remains top priority at MARA Corp.
