The International Farm Management Association is a society of people who are involved directly or indirectly in the agricultural process and who have an interest in agricultures in other parts of the world than their own. This includes the whole spectrum of individual and corporate producers, managers, advisors, researchers, teachers, policy-makers, suppliers, farming and marketing organizations and agribusiness companies associated with agriculture, horticulture and rural enterprise. Currently the Association has members in over 50 countries and has a Council made up of 20 members from around the world. Within IFMA membership everyone is equal. The IFMA is organised and co-ordinated by the Council, the details of which you will find on the Council Page of our website. The IFMA's main activities are international congresses, a journal called the International Journal of Agricultural Management which is co-published with the Institute of Agricultural Management in UK, and a website on which congress papers (the proceedings) are published with free access to all comers. It is a non profit-making organisation. The objective of the Association is to further the knowledge and understanding of farm business management and to exchange ideas and information about farm management theory and practice throughout the world.
