Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks, Inc. [NHS] was incorporated in 1977 with the vision of increasing homeownership in the City of Reading. We believe that homeownership builds strong families; strong families build stable neighborhoods; and stable neighborhoods build healthy communities. At the foundation of this vision were concepts such as resident empowerment, redevelopment, public and private partnerships, and aggressive intervention.
