Douglass PC was originally founded in 2011 by Jennifer Ladisch Douglass. In 2020, Richard Douglass and Jennifer Ladisch Douglass joined forces to create a Chicago-based law firm focused on addressing the needs of complex businesses and high net worth individuals throughout the country in matters involving commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation. The combined firm, known as Douglass & Ladisch Douglass, discovered a large appetite for a more cost-effective alternative to obtain top-notch representation in complex business cases. Thus, despite the challenges posed by starting a firm three months following the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the firm quickly thrived. In January 2022, not quite two years later, a new shareholder, Patrick Smith, joined the firm, which was renamed Douglass PC. Patrick is an attorney and business executive with decades of business and tax consulting experience, perfectly complementing and reinforcing the strengths of our firm, allowing Douglass PC to continue providing high-quality representation at more cost-effective pricing.
