Welcome Bristol University Conservative Association (BUCA) is the home for right-leaning students to discuss politics, meet MPs, network and gain campaigning experience. We generally promote Conservative ideology however, we are not fully associated with the party machine so welcome debate and the discussion of ideas. Although we are a right-leaning organisation, we welcome people of any background or affiliation and enjoy hearing points of view to our own! We host a number of social events throughout the year including debates, quizzes, talks, pub socials and formal dinners. In recent years, speakers have included prominent party names such as Lord Michael Howard, Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, John Redwood MP, Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Andrew Bowie MP, Baroness Morgan and Graham Brady MP. Campaigning Campaigning with BUCA is an easy and enjoyable way to become involved in politics. During elections we regularly undertake local campaigning for the Bristol City Council elections, sometimes standing our own candidates. In recent General Elections we have focused our efforts on the key marginal seat of Bristol North West. Elections Each year our Members elect the following officeholders: Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Social Secretary.
