The UCL Scuba Club is a diving centre that addresses two pressing gaps in marine conservation; the lack of specialised action in conservation initiatives and the lack of general awareness of the importance of marine conservation. As a scuba club, we have noticed the increasing need for specialised volunteers in Marine Conservation projects. Being able to ‘dive’ is becoming increasingly insufficient for anyone who wants to make a real difference in this field. That is why we go beyond offering a simple diving certificate. By offering theoretical and physical marine conservation training at a minimised cost, we provide students with the opportunity to participate in global conservation expeditions at a professional level.
