The Idaho Steelheads are an ECHL hockey team that calls Boise, Idaho, home. The Steelheads are affiliated with the NHL Dallas Stars and NHL Texas Stars. After its inception in 1997, The Steelheads have gone on to win two Kelly Cup Championships. The team played in the West Coast Hockey League from 1997-2003, then moved on to play in the ECHL in 2003, and have been with the ECHL since then. Playing all home games at Qwest Arena, which is adjacent to The Grove Hotel, The Idaho Steelheads have managed to create a great fan base and continue to give the community of Boise some much needed winter excitement.
