The Warleigh Weir Project was founded in 2018 to promote the sustainable use of the countryside, river access and to a increase awareness of the incredible life experiences people can have in their local nature spots. Warleigh Weir is located on a river island in the Cotswolds AONB and for over 100 years has been a popular wild swimming, picnic and recreation site. The Warleigh Weir Project owns the freehold title of the river island and surrounding woodland. WWP is a not-for-profit enterprise, but does have low-key commercial activities to fund tree-planting, land maintainence and river-access improvements.
