Since its launch in 2016, Rock Locations has grown rapidly from representing a handful of homes and businesses to many local locations with new spaces being added often. The Rockaways, the hip and urban beach community in Queens, New York is convenient to Manhattan’s downtown and midtown neighborhoods as well as production in the outer boroughs. Its proximity to JFK airport also makes it an easy journey for any production company flying into the area. It’s a rich environment for media production projects. The Rockaways neighborhood is home to such businesses as a wine and tapas bar, hip clothing boutiques, yoga studios, and a funky home vintage shop that all set themselves apart from the typical city style. The homes as well – a grand inn on the bay, a sweet houseboat, surfers’ pads, and more – also exude that same sense of creativity. Many of the homeowners are local shop and bar owners, surf teachers and artists.
