MobiHub Ltd is a transport consultancy, led by John Austin, focused on sustainable transport strategy. Our work has geography at its core because we believe that an understanding and application of geographical principles is essential to designing and delivering transport that works for communities. A key concept relevant to a large part of our work is that of Mobility Hubs - local sustainable gateways to demand-responsive travel. We developed the Mobility Hub concept in the UK from 2003, and Mobihub® as a trademark for Mobility Hubs to protect the quality of the concept and to help enable a system of standards to be introduced at an appropriate point. Our consulting and research projects are very varied, covering advice on Policy Development, Strategy, System Design, Planning, Operations, User Needs, Economics and Finance - but a common theme is usually Technology. This has a huge potential to play a key role in enabling commercially-successful public transport operations as well as delivering significant passenger benefits, first-class intermodal networks and sustainability; all things that we are passionate about. MobiHub Ltd was started by Peter Warman and John Austin (then of Austin Analytics) in 2003, and in 2018 when Peter Warman reduced his workload, John Austin took over MobiHub Ltd and decided to make it his main trading arm rather than Austin Analytics, which was subsequently shut down. John Austin is a member of BRTuk - the interest and information group on evolving bus-based rubber-tyred rapid transit technology. Our base is in Cambridge - the high-technology cluster city whose ideas change the world.
