The Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart was established in 1965 and has expanded continuously its research focus and fields of application. Our guiding principle lies in the development and application of control engineering and other computer-guided means for solving automation tasks. We conduct interdisciplinary research on technologies for the production and automation of tomorrow, always with the industrial applicability in focus.
