SWALIF Publishing House is an independent collective based in the UAE to provide Youth in the MENA region an avenue through which they can propose, produce, and propel their work into actualized projects. SWALIF intends to become a leading platform where aspiring, emerging writers and artists can come to explore their craft and showcase their work to the world. The word SWALIF in the Khaleeji identity means conversations and interactions, and we want to redevelop the way we exchange thoughts. We hope to build community and connections amongst those attached to the MENA region through engagement between art and literature by publishing books/magazines, participating in galleries, hosting exhibitions, and ultimately facilitating conversations through various mediums. Currently, we plan on releasing at least one book every quarter of the year, with a constant focus on art and literature. Along with books, we plan on publically and externally activating our projects, introducing mechanisms of interacting and engaging with our curated discourse (i.e. podcasts, exhibits, films, etc). SWALIF will also operate as a publishing stream for regional magazines, providing printing and distribution operations to collaborate with our publishing house.
