Northeastern University was created as a result of Northeastern's University's 2013 Institutional Master Plan (IMP). Community residents on the IMP Task Force noted that they were sometimes overwhelmed by the labyrinth of buildings on campus and were uncertain about whom to approach with questions. As part of its commitment to being a good neighbor, the University worked with local residents to create a "community space" on campus that would serve as a welcoming first point of entry and address their concerns and perceptions. Our purpose: Provide the resources of the University to the general public, and serve as a portal for members of the on- and off-campus communities to interact through programming intentionally designed to foster collaborations and sharing of information. Resources: -Forty seat classroom with enabled projector and white board facility -Twelve seat conference room enabled with projector and white board facility -Free, public internet counter with four computers -Open WiFi network
