The Andromeda Electric Orchestra founded on April 7, 2019 by Alfred Surenyan is a cutting edge modern orchestra of electric musical instruments. The orchestra structure is similar to a traditional orchestra, but in a chamber orchestra size. Dr. Surenyan has imagined a cutting edge orchestra that performs both traditional music and new music with the sounds of electronics for decades. This orchestra is the step into that direction. Electronics has been a part of music since the 1800s and has developed drastically in the last 30 years with the invention of electric violins, cellos, and the Electric Woodwind Instrument. Many more has been invented (both traditional and non-traditional) int eh past 15 years. The AEO will explore these instruments both in an orchestral setting as well as in a chamber music setting. MISSON STATEMENT The mission of the Andromeda Electric Orchestra is to perform traditional and modern music with electric musical instruments with originality, creativity and innovation.
