In 2012 Richie Harkham went to Kenya to build a dining hall extension at a boarding house for young girls in a Masaai community. His experience there opened his eyes to the reality of child labour and intergenerational poverty in the developing world.Seeing the real struggles these children faced in obtaining an education and breaking this vicious cycle, Richie committed himself to assisting in this process where he could. After previous involvement in charity work in both Africa and Mynamar, Richard decided to found his own not for profit organisation, Hark Angel. The catalyst for this was Richie’s desire to honour the memory of a young boy who provided a donor knee after Richard was involved in a serious accident. Hark Angel's first project will be to build a school in the donor's honour so that his memory can live on through the improved lives of the children attending.
