The Energy Security Board (ESB) has been tasked by the nation's energy ministers with providing whole-of-system oversight as the National Energy Market (NEM) goes through a rapid transition from thermal generation assets to low-emission alternatives like renewables. The ESB, in collaboration with the Australian Energy Market Commission, Australian Energy Market Operator and the Australian Energy Regulator and industry stakeholders, are undertaking a suite of reforms to ensure we have the appropriate tools in place to support an orderly transition that minimises consumer costs and maintains reliability and security.
