Bristol Black Carers
www.bristolblackcarers.org.ukBristol Black Carers aim is to empower and support young and adult carers. The issues carers face can be very complex and can cross many areas which include health conditions, accessing government services and education/employment, etc. We provide respite through the support groups, provide or give access to trips/activities/events. We are always here to listen, support, give advice and information to any carers in need. Within the black and ethnic minority communities most carers do not identify as a carer because it is considered to be a norm to care for family/friend. Bristol Black Carers would like to raise awareness of unseen carers who are suffering in silence. Once identified, the relevant support and service that is available can be offered to the carer upon their request. This will help to have a healthier and well supported community which can reduce isolation. Volunteers needed: the charity is developing and we need assistance in these area to start building sustainability, income and raising the profile of the charity and its service users.
