Albert Park Football and Netball Club
www.albertparkfc.com.auThe Albert Park Amateur Football Club has its origin from the old ANZ Bank Football Club. The club commenced in its current form in 1954 through its affiliation with the ANZ Bank Social Club. Originally it’s home ground was at what is now called Melbourne Park (Rod Laver Area), before moving to Oval 15 and finally to its current location as part of the redevelopment of the Albert Park precinct when the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix commenced. During the 1990’s the ANZ Bank ceased its support of the club, which saw the name change to ANZ Bank/Albert Park in 1998 and finally to Albert Park in 1999. Club nicknames include “The Zedders”, “The Rats” and finally “The Falcons” in 2001. The club has survived tough times but through the strength & generosity of its members it has now become a club with a strong culture & character built on mate ship, camaraderie, persistency and the welcoming of players of various backgrounds.
