It was founded in 1990 as a Computer Science department, and in June 2013 it was upgraded and renamed to Department of Computer Science & Engineering. It belongs to the School of Engineering and awards the prestigious Engineer's Diploma, with its graduates getting accepted as full members of the Technical Chamber of Greece. Throughout those years, it has come to be one of the top CSE departments in Greece, with cutting edge facilities for teaching and research, contemporary programs of study and global collaborations through participation in national and international R&D projects. Undergraduate Studies Undergraduate Studies in the CSE Department last 10 semesters. The offered courses cover all the necessary knowledge in the fields of computer science & engineering. The courses are divided into compulsory and elective. Students can also register for courses offered by other departments of the University, undertake a compulsory undergraduate thesis and participate in co-op and mobility programs. Graduate Studies The CSE Department organizes and operates a Graduate Program which offers an M.Sc. degree in Data and Systems Engineering, with specialization in two scientific areas (Data Science & Engineering, and Advanced Computing Systems) and a Doctoral Program leading to a Ph.D. degree.
