About Maruni Maruni is a wood furniture brand established in 1928. Following the motto of "Industrialization of craft skills", Maruni has been seeking to find the right balance between artisans' handwork and machining to continually produce wood furniture for over 90 years in order to create affordable furniture that reflects the beauty of such craft skills. In 2008 we announced our MARUNI COLLECTION, which includes the HIROSHIMA models, together with product designer Naoto Fukasawa with the goal of utilizing the special characteristics of our plant to produce furniture that will create a new global standard. We were joined by Jasper Morrison in 2011 as we continue to expand our world view year by year. Sincere and direct communication between designers and technicians, designs that highlight the natural beauty of the wood, and the sophisticated manufacturing skills of our artisans will enable us to continue to produce wood furniture recognized as a new global standard for hundreds of years to come.
