The Fractals Workshop is a generative design and computation workshop that combines logic, geometry, natural systems and structure. Fractals is a hands-on workshop, building upon the design research carried out in previous iterations. Past participants of the workshop have been: • school students from disadvantaged backgrounds • elementary school students from private and international schools • undergraduate and post-graduate students of Interior Design and Architecture • professionals from all backgrounds, with an interest in geometry, craft, art and design • families and friends of all ages and backgrounds Since 2011, the Fractals Workshop has been to Hyderabad, Chennai, Vellore, Kochi, Kollam, Roorkee, Ahmedabad, Surat, Sharjah, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain. It has also been taught online independently and in collaboration with various schools of design and architecture, as well as other organizations worldwide. Some collaborations include: Facebook Open Arts, IKEA, the Boston Architectural College, Turenscape Academy, Virginia Commonwealth University, Access Microscholarship Program, Dubai Design Week, Sharjah Art Foundation, and the World Design Organization. The Fractals Workshop and its teaching methods and outcomes are sole intellectual property of Takbir Fatima and DesignAware, and cannot be legally taught by any individuals or institutions other than Takbir Fatima or DesignAware.
