Casa Granturismo, Sociedade de Construções, Lda. is a Algarve (Portugal) partnership concerned with understanding the impact of tourism and city comtemporary architectural, urban, cultural and biological productions that have undergone a series of unprecedented reciprocities between geographical, economical, political and social realities since the 20th century. These relationships from the construction of landscape to the transformation of the region into a tourist product are the privileged ground for the study of: identity, authenticity, ecology, the natural, leisure and pleasure. The specific objective is to develop instruments that will change the way in which Tourism and City determines the definition of urban society. The Office is led by partners - Joaquim Camacho and Ricardo Camacho – and colaborators a staff of architects, researchers, designers, model makers, industrial designers and graphic designers of multinational origin work in close collaboration. Expert consultants are intimately involved from the beginning of the design process. Mr. Joaquim Camacho is a recognized developer for more than 30 years now, in the middle Algarve, and his son Mr. Ricardo Camacho is a Dipl.Architect-FAUTL Lisbon and M.Arch.II Harvard University Graduate School of Design
