This is what I wrote three years ago about my new venture..."Cafe Tissardmine is a work in progress at the moment but by September 2011, we will be up and running. It will be a three bedroom, 4 berber tent, residence and salon complex situated in the sahara 30Kms SE of Rissani and Erfoud in Morocco. Oasis Tissardmine is a quiet village of around 100 people and is 7kms south of the natural wonder, Erg Chebbi, a giant sand dune 22kms long and 5kms wide. We will cater for people who want to experience the desert, but also offer residential courses in the arts and a residence for artists to stay for up to three months." Now, three years on and we have built four guestrooms around an internal courtyard, created a 5 tent camp (all with en-suite bathrooms), installed solar power, planted 130 trees and have hosted many artists and travellers and staged many retreats in our corner of the world. We have built a good reputation based on excellent food, good service and the peace and quiet of this location...my business partner Youssef Bouchedor has become an official partner in the business as we continue to grow and have two permanent employees and still many casuals.
