Dartmoor Zoological Park has a fascinating story that will mean it is destined to become the most famous zoo in the world. Set in 33 acres of beautiful woodland with some stunning views of the surrounding countryside, Dartmoor Zoological Park is a unique, zoo with a fantastic collection of animals and the widest variety of big cats in the south west of England. Formerly known as Dartmoor Wildlife Park, the zoo was purchased by the Mee family and, following major refurbishment work, reopened in July 2007. 10 years on the zoo has been through a roller coaster journey but the conversion to charity in 2014 has strengthened it's future and opened up new and exciting opportunities. The animals here include tigers, lions, jaguar, lynx and cheetah, wolves, tapir, capybara, racoons, meerkats, monkeys, deer, owls, ostrich, a fantastic collection of bugs and reptiles and much, much more. Our restaurant serves hot and cold, drinks and meals and we can cater for all kinds of events up to 200 people including weddings.
