POPUP (People Upliftment Programme)

www.popup.co.za

POPUP’s vision is to transform lives and uplift individuals to impact their world. We firmly believe that transformation takes place from a holistic point of view, impacting the heart, hand and mind of the individual in such a way as to transform him/her from the inside out, resulting in a changed individual who can positively impact their immediate surroundings; their households, extended families, communities or the country at large. POPUP was established at the end of 1999, with a holistic approach to the upliftment. 2005 POPUP operates a fully-fledged skills training and development centre to ensure independence, restoration and true upliftment of individuals through market-related, cost-effective training. What differentiates the POPUP skills training and development centre is that POPUP aims to ensure the fulfilment of the individual’s needs – mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. People are given opportunities to obtain skills which enable them to find employment or start their own enterprise POPUP provides services to any person living in Tshwane and surrounding areas, regardless of race, culture, gender or religion. POPUP’s requirements are that potential learners should be between 18 and 45 years of age, unemployed, with no access to tertiary education. These individuals should be able to read, write and speak English, which is the primary language of tuition. Learners leave the organisation with the knowledge that their lives have a purpose and meaning as we provide hope and restoring their human dignity.
