African Voices, a non-profit arts organization, is devoted to showcasing unique and diverse stories within the African Diaspora through the arts, literature and film. The organization publishes a literary magazine, sponsors book signings, literary readings, professional conferences and workshops for artists and writers. African Voices presents Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series (www.reelsisters.org), an annual film festival dedicated to providing opportunities for women of color in the film industry. African Voices is a recipient of the West Harlem Development Corp. grant for capacity building in Harlem's Community District 9.
