Kamcare Social and Training Services is a community development organisation. Kamcare was established in 2008 in an attempt to adress the root of the issue of increased crime within the area. We have since built a strong relationship with the community as a whole and provide much needed services to anyone in need. We have 5 centres of service delivery and they are as follows: Child Development Centre - Reading Eggs (where we teach disadvantaged children english via a computer program), Kids Games (an holiday programme where we keep children out of trouble while teaching them life skills during the July school holiday), Canoe Academy (holistic development of children), Spiritual work (providing spiritual guidance for the children in Jakaranda Children's Home). Community Development Centre - Project Sunshine (Providing solar panels to people in informal settlements), Basic needs (providing needy families with food, clothes and blankets), Outreaches (to children's homes, old age homes and correctional facilities). Wellness Centre - professional therapeutic services. Bussiness Support Centre - Mentoring small businesses, patnership in enterprise development (BB-BEE), partnership in socio-economic development (BB-BEE). Training Centre - Entrepreneurial SKill Development (skills training and mentoring to upcoming entrepreneurs in conjunction with UNISA), Sewing Skills (skills training for single mothers who provide for their families), Baking Skills (training to develop baking skills for the home and for additional income opportunities), Parenting Skills, Vocational Skills (computer skills, welding skills and gardening skills training).
