Piel Canela, or PCD, is a not for profit organization dedicated to educating the general public in music and dance. Since its founding by Joe Burgos in October 2000, PCD has been operating in lower Manhattan offering classes in Salsa, Belly Dancing, Tango, Samba, Bachata, Flamenco, Rueda de Casino, Zouk, East Coast Swing, Hustle, Cha Cha, Hip Hop and Reggaeton. PCD also offers free Salsa dance classes for children from ages 8 to 12. The music school offers beginner courses in clave timing, Guiro, Maracas, Bongo, Conga, Timbal and more.
