CARLSBERG FOUNDATION was founded in 1876 by brewer JC Jacobsen. In 1882 he transferred his brewery, Old Brewery, to the foundation. Thus he wanted to ensure the brewery's future. J.C. Jacobsen's desire was to create a fund with solid scientific commitments and direct responsibility for a business. CARLSBERG FOUNDATION own more than 25% stake in Carlsberg A / S. NEW CARLSBERG FOUNDATION was created by a trust deed dated 20 January 1902 by Brewer, Dr. Hans Christian Carl Jacobsen and his wife Ottilia Jacobsen, entrusted with the work to the best of art in the founders' homeland.
