Clinical Sensors is developing medical devices and diagnostics that harness the biological activity of nitric oxide to improve the management of both severe acute disease (such as sepsis) and chronic disease (such as diabetes). Clinical Sensors is the second company from Professor Mark Schoenfisch’s lab at the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Chemistry. Located in Research Triangle Park, NC, Clinical Sensors commenced active operation in Fall 2014 when it was awarded its first NIH STTR grant. Since then, Clinical Sensors has won nearly $4M in NIH and State of North Carolina awards.
