Tricounty Family Ministries
www.tricountyfamilyministries.orgricounty Family Ministries, is a faith-based not-for-profit, ecumenical ministry providing food, clothing, medical care, counseling, transportation, shelter, financial assistance and other vital services to the less fortunate in the tricounty area. It offers a safe, compassionate, and inviting place for all people in need. Founded in 1983 as Lutheran Social Services by three Lutheran and one Methodist ministers, our organization humbly began as a soup kitchen which has since served more than 5 million meals to the less fortunate in the Tricounty area. Our organization is a sign of hope in one of the poorest neighborhoods, which is populated by the elderly on fixed incomes and the “working poor”, who are often in despair and lacking education, and who cannot make ends meet due to lack of resources to rebuild when stricken with poverty, illness, or addiction. Volunteers representing all ages, walks of life and religious affiliations—even many current clients—work at our center to help break the cycle of poverty and abuse. We help young and old alike live with a sense of worth as human beings. We offer services to anyone in need and all are provided at no cost. At least 96.8% of our budget goes directly to programs. We Feed The Hungry We Clothe Those in Need We Assist with Medicine and Health Care Needs We Offer Shelter and Intensive LifeCoaching We Educate the Person as a Whole We Help with Basic Financial Needs
