The Edmonton Metropolitan Region has 1.4 million people and over 783,000 jobs. It represents 30% of Alberta's GDP and will grow to 2.2 million people and 1.2 million jobs in the next 30 years. Edmonton Global promotes the Edmonton region globally to attract and retain business investment. Formally the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Economic Development Company, Edmonton Global is a not-for-profit established by 15 regional municipalities to advance economic development and cooperation in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
