The origin of the first Super Tuscan was in 1968, where he was the first to produce quality wine as "table wine", the lowest level of the pyramid in Italian wine quality, albeit was produced with grapes from the vineyards of the Chianti Classico DOC area. This Committee was created to protect and enhance the identity and history of Historical Super Tuscans wines, forerunners of the great wines of Tuscany.
