Chanticleer Garden
www.chanticleergarden.orgChanticleer, a pleasure garden, is a 47-acre public garden known for its creativity, artistry in the garden, and cutting edge horticulture. Within 30 minutes of Philadelphia, Chanticleer is one of the great gardens of the region. We are celebrating two anniversaries in 2013 - our centennial as the Rosengarten estate and 20th year as a public garden. Come discover why London's Financial Times calls us "planted to perfection." Formerly, it was the estate of Christine and Adolph Rosengarten, Sr. Mr. Rosengarten was head of the pharmaceutical company Rosengarten and Sons. Their son Adolph, Jr., left the property to be enjoyed as a public garden. The garden opened to visitors in 1993. Originally, the estate was known for its majestic trees and verdant lawns. Today, the trees and lawns remain, but the focus is on plant combinations, containers, textures, and colors, often relying on foliage more than flowers. Chanticleer is indeed a pleasure garden, offering an escape from the rush of every day life and a place where one can feel like a personal guest of the Rosengarten family. Chanticleer is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am until 5pm.
