Our Mission The way we work needs to change. Drastically and fast. To tackle this transformative journey and its challenges, our mission is to create a ‘Future of Work’ Ecosystem, starting in Switzerland, facilitating collaboration, experimentation, and co-creation. We want to empower people to take action towards their desired Future of Work. The Future of Work Unconference In order to deliver on that promise, we chose to bring an Unconference-style event to Zurich. On October 19, 2020, we delivered a full-day event in Kunsthaus, featuring a long list of thought provokers: The SHAKE UP THE WORKPLACE - A Future of Work Unconference. Unlike traditional conferences, an unconference is a participant-oriented gathering where the attendees decide on the agenda elements, discussion topics, and workshops. The Shaker Community Our idea quickly grew past organizing an event into facilitating an online community - currently on Slack - where we provide a safe space to openly share questions, answers, experiences - to help and learn from each other - to protect our workplaces. Our community activities currently also include virtual coffee sessions where we share without an agenda. Online Sessions Our activities currently also include interactive virtual dialogs about different topics in the vast field of Future of Work. We also have one format dedicated to the intersection of technology and the Future of Work called Shaker Tech Talks.
