Harbin Normal University is located in Harbin, a famous historical and cultural city known as the "Ice City of Summer". It is an important talent training base and scientific research base for education, art, humanities and social sciences and natural sciences in Heilongjiang Province. It is a key construction of Heilongjiang Province. A high-level university is an excellent school for undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education. The school is a national "Middle and Western University Basic Ability Building Project" and one of the 100 central and western undergraduate colleges and universities supported by the state during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.　 　　The school was established in 1951. Its predecessor was Songjiang Provincial Xingzhi Normal School established by our party in the Northeast Liberated Area in 1946. It has experienced Harbin Teachers College (1951—1956) and Harbin Teachers College (1956—1980). In 1980, it was renamed Harbin Normal University. In 2000, Hulan Teachers College and Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Teachers College were merged.
