The Centenary Movement is a non-partisan body initiated by young and experienced Sri Lankan activists from various professional backgrounds with the vision of making Sri Lanka a better place to live in, and to put a new generation to the core of national decision-making to chart a better path to progress over the long-term. The Centenary Academy is a key product of the movement designed to energize, equip, and enable a new generation to lead Sri Lanka effectively and strategically to her Centenary of independence. We are seeking to cast a vision for younger Sri Lankans to take their rightful place and ensure Sri Lanka does not fail to meet her potential any longer. we hope to create a United, Prosperous, Just, and Thriving nation that would be a model to the world of incredible national transformation recovering from a violent and unfortunate history. We wish to transform the grim and spiraling political, economic, and social realities of our nation by identifying, mentoring, investing in, pioneering, and platforming a new generation of young political leaders marked by Clarity of vision, undeniable Competence, strong Character, and authentic Compassion. When Sri Lanka celebrates her 100th independence anniversary in 2048, we hope that our nation would have experienced a transformation in its socio-political and economic landscape. We, as a generation, inherited a country embroiled in conflict and devastated by corruption. Even though we may not have had control over what we inherited, we have a responsibility and privilege to serve the generations to come.
