Haiti Eye Mission has treated thousands of patients in the region of Pignon Haiti. In addition to restoring sight, the team builds relationships with residents, hospital staff, and city officials, and work with them to increase awareness of curable and preventable blindness. Haiti Eye Mission, which was incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2017, provides the only eyecare available to the 250,000 people living in and around Pignon. Our team provides eye screenings, eyeglasses and sunglasses, cataract and glaucoma surgeries, and medical treatment of eye diseases to more than 1,400 residents of the Pignon area annually. Each year, our Haiti eye team performs approximately 330 surgeries and distributes hundreds of bottles of glaucoma drops to the families living in and around Pignon.
