It is a member of the International Skating Union and Swiss Olympic. The sports that Swiss Ice Skating look out to are namely Figure Skating (Single & Pairs), Ice Dance, Synchronized Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating. The association has nearly 9,000 members, organized into 85 clubs and 8 regional associations. Swiss Ice Skating was founded February 17, 1911 by some members of the Skating Association St. Moritz, making it one of the oldest winter sports associations in Switzerland. In the same year, the association became a member of the International Skating Union and Swiss Olympic. In 1913 Lausanne, Geneva and Adelboden were the first ice skating clubs that joined the Swiss Ice Skating. Its headquarters are now based in Ittigen, Bern.
