UN Initiative
www.uninitiative.orgThe United Nations Initiative was founded in 2015 by a small group of students at New York University. It was launched with the aim of providing a platform for our students to gain exposure to the United Nations and the world of diplomacy. In this respect, the organization has been immensely successful. Over the years, the UN Initiative has organized and moderated a host of discussions with global leaders of diverse and remarkable qualifications. The highly successful “Discussion with the Global Leader” series has seen students engage with global leaders in discussions ranging from various state foreign policies to the roles and responsibilities of members of the UN Secretariat. At the core of this relationship is the principle of dialogue. The world around us is rapidly changing, and unprecedented events have created what seems to be a pivotal moment in human history. Under these conditions, it is essential that various members of our global community are able to interact, share ideas, and challenge the status quo. Our mission is to provide members of New York University and its affiliates with a safe and academic platform through which they can discuss, question, and challenge experts in the political arena. Our vision is to be an inclusive, equitable and professional student-led organization at the forefront of organized discourse at New York University.
