King John's House is an enigmatic medieval house located in Romsey, Hampshire, UK close to Romsey Abbey. It is set in a period-style garden providing the perfect backdrop to Miss Moody's Tudor Tea Room, which serves traditional lunches and afternoon teas, the 'King' of which is King John's Royal Afternoon Tea. The museum comprises three small medieval, tudor and victorian buildings and its collections tell the story of the people who have owned, lived and worked around King John's House. The house itself has medieval graffiti etched into the original wall plaster and an unusual example of a bone floor. The House, Museum and Garden are managed by a charitable trust and are largely tended by a dedicated team of volunteers. The House is a vibrant focal point for the arts, heritage, culture and education and hosts many art exhibitions and events throughout the year.
