www.visuallyspeaking.infoVisually Speaking is a Deafqueer-owned and operated business with a special interest in offering American Sign Language (ASL) education to communities and workplaces throughout the Greater Seattle Area. Since 2002, Visually Speaking has provided ASL instruction to local businesses, communities, and private one-on-one lessons. All classes and lessons are taught by Deaf instructors. Visually Speaking provides opportunities for the Deaf community and increases community awareness through social events. Over the years, Visually Speaking has dedicated time and energy to hosting social spaces for ASL to flourish. Our most successful reoccurring event, “The ASL Lounge” has been hosted at the annual Pride event since 2016. American Sign Language is a great way to teach diversity awareness, share cultural perspectives, and learn to communicate with the Deaf community. Visually Speaking is for people of all ages who want to develop their ASL language skills, learn how to start basic conversations with Deaf folks, and immerse themselves in a Deaf learning environment.
