Welcome to PGH Museums, Southwest Pennsylvania’s most comprehensive directory of museums, galleries, and historic places! We also provide original media content including podcasts, video interviews, documentaries, and original blog content covering the region’s history and art communities, as well as a membership program with discounts to affiliate locations in our database. PGH Museums started when two friends, Randy and Brian, began touring their favorite museums. The two visited many museums and through their journeys were often asked, where could someone find a list of these museums? The short answer was nowhere. Not until now. Organizing a team of volunteers and hiring the talent of Sidekick Media Services and J Graphic Communications, the group began the work of developing a directory of more than 400 listings. The listing was put in a directory and an interactive map(Link “directory” and “Interactive map”. In December 2019 the first podcast and video show, PGH Art Talk, launched. PGH Art Talk interviews local artists on location in their studios. all of 2020 will mark the launch of our second podcast, the Culture Cruise, which explores museums in-car on the way to and from each location. PGH Museums will also continue to feature original documentaries taking you behind the scenes of your favorite locations, and exclusive members only content will be available on the members only page.
