NAMI Fresno

We provide education, support and advocacy for people affected by mental illness at no cost to our community at no cost. We are a membership organization, however, membership is not required to receive education and support. We have education classes for families with adult loved ones, as well as children, living with mental illness. We have education classes for individuals with a personal diagnosis. We also provide classes to providers in the community with clients living with mental illness. We host support groups for family members, and for individuals that are affected by mental illness. In addition to these, we provide many speaking programs to allow our members of the mental community to share their stories in efforts to reduce stigma and raise awareness for mental health. This includes presentations to business organizations, schools and teachers, parents, providers in the mental health field, and consumers living with mental illness. All of the classes and support programs are led/facilitated by individuals with lived experience. They have family members living with illness and/or they have a personal diagnosis. We raise our funds locally through our annual fundraising event: NAMIWalks usually held in May. We have various other events that help to support funding for these local programs.
