VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) is an integrated health care delivery system, offering medical, surgical, rehabilitative, mental health, and extended care to Veterans across Northern California. The health system is made up of 12 sites of care, including a medical center in Sacramento; a rehabilitation and extended care facility in Martinez, and 10 outpatient clinics. VANCHCS has two divisions, each led by an associate director. The Sacramento Valley Division includes medical facilities in Sacramento (McClellan Park and Mather), Auburn, Chico, Redding, and Yreka, and the East Bay Division includes medical facilities in Fairfield, Vallejo, Martinez, and Oakland. VANCHCS serves an area covering 17 counties, about 30,000 square miles, and about 175,000 Veterans. Counties: Alameda, Amador, Butte, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Glenn, Placer, Sacramento, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo and Yuba. Congressional Districts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. 7, 9, 11, and 13. As part of the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21), VANCHCS provides Veterans access to an extensive range of health and specialty services. VISN 21 includes VA medical centers in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Fresno, California; Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, and medical facilities in Hawaii, Guam and Manila.
