The Youth Career Center of Hampton Roads (YCCHR), under the general guidance of the Opportunity Inc. Youth Council, provides career exploration, job preparation and financial literacy education to youth ages 14-21 living in the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Isle of Wight County and Southampton County. Our services are provided through onsite group tours, scheduled workshops or programs, and to individuals on a walk-in basis. Additionally, the YCCHR hosts recruitment events on behalf of local employers. The YCCHR as well as the many unique Opportunity Inc. Year round Youth Programs we offer is guided by the local workforce development board and is operated by Opportunity Inc. Funded by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Opportunity Inc. is responsible for developing workforce policy and administering workforce development initiatives to the eight localities we serve.
