Hospital Rooms aims to advance and improve environmental conditions in mental health hospitals for patients, staff, visitors and carers by inviting world class contemporary artists to create functional and compliant installation based artworks for wards, communal spaces and outpatient areas. Our latest project was in collaboration with South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust at Springfield University Hospital, where we commissioned 10 installations for the Phoenix Unit, a secure rehabilitation residential unit for patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Our participating artists included Assemble, Nick Knight, Gavin Turk, Mark Power & Jo Coles, Steve Macleod, Sophie Clements, Michael O'Reilly, Aimee Parrott and Tim A Shaw.
