Shifa medical university college was established in 1999. It was however, said that is the first type of Medical Training intuitions that can provide health needs/requirements for the local community. Shifa University was particularly assigned to address the Medical needs for those returnees population from Ethiopian Refugee camps who fled due to outbreak of civil war in Somalia in year of 1988.
