Welcome to M and EM's and Meredith Jaye, lifestyle boutiques located in the heart of Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, and Burr Ridge, Illinois, charming and sophisticated western suburbs of Chicago. In March 2000, my husband and I were on a ski vacation in Telluride, Colorado, and we stumbled upon a quaint children's boutique that embodied a sophisticated and straightforward retail experience. I had found my calling. Our M and EM's concept began to focus on that trip. The vision for our shop, what we represent, and our passion for family led us to name M and EM's, after daughters Mackenzie and Emmerson, and it was perfect! We opened our doors in August 2000 in downtown Wheaton, Illinois, in the historic Knippen Shoe Building, and five years later, we realized we had outgrown our space. So, wanting to stay close to the community, we moved down the road to beautiful downtown Glen Ellyn. This has been our home for the last 15 years, and we feel so blessed! Growing from a baby and children's boutique to a one-stop-shop for everyone on your list is a dream. Our customers asked for more, and we listened. We opened our home and women's store five years ago with this growth. Meredith Jaye, the middle name of our girls, is a curated selection of women's clothing, accessories, and home decor.
